The Who and Why Behind Chip Strap

The Who and Why Behind Chip Strap

We all know golf is brutally hard. I didn’t pick up a club until I was 52. Yeah, I waited way too long. I wish I’d started sooner, but now I’m obsessed with the game in a way I never imagined.

It all began when we took a retiring customer out for a celebratory round. I shot a 70… on nine holes. Straight-up humiliating. I gave myself an ultimatum: learn to play or quit forever.

I scoured the internet and found a coach who broke down the basic swing in plain English. Boom—I could finally rip a driver!

But my short game? Disaster. Inside 20 yards of the green, it was pure ping-pong—bouncing the ball back and forth, praying it stayed on the putting surface. After yet another soul-crushing session, I needed a fix. Nets and baskets worked, but they were a hassle. I wanted something dead simple and lightning fast.

That night, I rigged up the first Chip Strap prototype. On a whim, I snapped a photo and texted it to my buddy Travis. Thirty seconds later, I was on the phone: “Get over here. We need to talk.” That was the birth of Chip Strap.

We spent the summer building a custom production table, hunting down vendors, and tweaking every detail. The result? The Chip Strap you see today—a dead-simple tool that will transform your short game.

We’re not here to teach you a “technique.” Plenty of methods exist; pick the one that clicks for you. In fact, we're working with certified PGA coaches and we'll post some tips that you can try. Once you do, Chip Strap locks in the feel for every distance. You’ll chip tighter to the pin, drain more one-putts, and shave strokes off your scorecard. How do I know? Well in my last 2 rounds, I only 3-putted 2 times. And, I had 31 putts in each of those rounds. Real practice gets real results.

It’s the smartest $50 you’ll ever spend on your golf game.
